Milan announces ambitious schemes
Milan is already planning for life after Covid-19. The city hopes to emerge from lockdown with cleaner and greener transports with a series of environmental initiatives to ensure public safety and bolster the fight against climate breakdown.
Milan has already announced measures, from 35 kilometres of new bike lanes, widened pavements, pedestrian and cyclist priority streets (one of Europe’s most ambitious cycling and walking schemes)
The city’s main shopping street and the heart of the gay district, Corso Buenos Aires is earmarked to be the first to receive the new traffic reduction measures, with work due to start there at the beginning of May.
